Owner and Head Coach
A Chicago, Illinois native, Coach Max was introduced to wrestling as a kid in 1st grade but didn’t fully dive into the sport until high school. Wrestling for Reavis High School (2003–2007), he quickly made his mark as a 2x Team MVP, program record-holder for wins, pins, and takedowns, and capped off his career as an All-State medalist.
From there, he continued his career at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, where he was a starter and NCAA Qualifier. His competitive journey didn’t stop after college—Coach Max later became a 2x U.S. Open Masters National Champion, proving his lifelong commitment to the sport.
As a coach, Max has spent years developing wrestlers at every level. He has guided youth athletes to multiple State and National Championships, while also serving as a coach at St. John Bosco High School (2019–2025), one of the nation’s premier programs. During his time there, he coached multiple California State Champions and National Champions, including sitting in the corner for five California State Finals and six Super 32 National Finals.
Coach Max has traveled the country coaching elite athletes, and his impact has been felt in every gym, every mat, and every corner he has stepped into.
In 2020, he founded Savage House Wrestling Club, which has quickly become one of California’s fastest-growing and most successful wrestling clubs. In just a few short years, Savage House has produced State Champions, National Champions, and nationally ranked wrestlers, cementing its reputation as a program built on toughness, growth, and excellence.
With years of experience as both a competitor and coach, Coach Max continues to dedicate himself to helping the next generation of wrestlers maximize their potential—on and off the mat.
“I believe that hard work, consistency, and attitude are more important than natural talent. Wrestling is about building confidence and grit , lessons that matter long after you leave the mat.” - Coach Max
